While Gandhi and Bharati, as political prisoners, are treated reasonably well in their prison, Sriram is classified as a non-political prisoner and thus shown the realities of life in prison. This includes restrictive shower and bathroom privileges, early morning wake-up calls, limited time outdoors, and nauseating food.
