In Act I, we learn that Mr. Spelding, a TV reporter, does his broadcasts right from his family's home. This family-centered approach to delivering the news reflects the intended audience...... namely; white, middle class, and suburban. This can be seen as a metaphor for the familiarizing of the news, projecting the bias of the reporter, and as questioning the integrity of the content.
