Who is Conway from Venetia and what is their importance?

Conway is Venetia's brother. He is a military man and a newlywed. Venetia, his younger sister is caring for his estate in his absence. When Conway becomes annoyed by his new mothre-in-law's interference, he sends his new wife and her mother to Undershaw, placing them in Venetia's hand.
