Why does Lucky often see her grandmother, Stella, as a liability in the novel, VenCo?

Stella suffers from frequent memory lapses and often forgets both unimportant things, like leaving popcorn in the microwave for too long, and much more important things, such as the fact that her husband is dead and her son is gone. Because of this, Lucky often thinks of Stella as a liability.
