Over the course of the novel, dreams come to symbolize truth and revelations. Dreamscapes in the world of VenCo can be shared between people. Both Meena and Jay, at various points in the novel, enter Lucky's dreams and are able to make observations about her based on things she would never have willingly revealed. Additionally, Lucky's dreams are where she is able to reflect on her memories of Arnya without feeling as much pain, showing how much her mother's memory still means to her.
