What distracts Rose from her concern for her friend in Chapter 8?

Jesse, the attractive vampire boy, approaches Rose while she is talking to Lissa. Lissa already doesn't want to talk about the fox, so it is easy for Rose to be distracted by the cute boy whom she likes. Rose agrees to sneak off with Jesse after classes.
