Who is Ted Casablanca from Valley of the Dolls and what is their importance?

Ted Casablanca is the famous costume, who designed Neely's clothes. He is bisexual but possibly homosexual. He and Neely have an affair and latter marry after her divorce. They have twin sons. Neely proves to be a neglectful wife and mother, and as a result, Ted takes many lovers. They do not divorce immediately because the head of the studio thinks it would be bad publicity. Ted gets custody of the children when Neely loses control.
