Who is Kevin Gillmore from Valley of the Dolls and what is their importance?

Kevin Gillmore owns Gillian Cosmetics. After he hires Anne to be the company's spokeswoman and model, he and Anne embark on a lengthy, if passionless, affair. Gillmore doesn't want to marry Anne because he already has grandchildren. After suffering a heart attack, however, he changes his mind. Anne agrees to marry Kevin.... at least until she is reunited with her first lover, Lyon Burke. Kevin ends their relationship with great bitterness, but he is unable to fire Anne as the "Gillian Girl".
