How is Andrew different than Logan in the novel, Upgrade?

Alex, unlike Logan, has a passion for violence. Without being inhibited by emotions or sentiment, Andrew has no issues with nearly beating Logan to death or shooting Tiffany when she might have survived the upgrade.
