What does Julie learn from Aggie's death in the novel, Up a Road Slowly?

Aggie is the source of derision and ridicule among the other students because of her develpmental delays and self-care habits (she is dirty and odiferous). Aggie's death provides invaluable lessons to Julie about compassion and tolerance for those who are less fortunate.
