How many seeing stones originally made up the palantiri in the Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-earth?

There were originally seven stones in the palatiri, but by the time of the Third Age, their number had dwindled to only two, the Anor-Stone of Minas Tirith and the Ortho-Stone of Isenguard.
