Cotter Martin jumps the turnstiles at the Polo Grounds on October 3, 1951, when he is just a young boy. He see the Giants win the pennant, and alsogets Bob by Thomson's game winning home run ball. Cotter has a sister names Rosie, who is sixteen, and two older brothers. His father is a furniture mover. The family lives in Harlem.
