How does new of the Baroness' return affect the atmosphere in the castle in the novel, Undermajordomo Minor?

When Lucy first arrives at the castle it stands in ruins. It atmosphere is dark and cold and abandoned, infected by the Baron’s madness. Later, when the Baroness announces her return, the castle undergoes a magical transformation and becomes a place of warmth and joy.
