What do we learn about Wallace at his funeral in the novel, Under the Whispering Door?

There are very few people in attendance at Wallace's funeral, though he is quick to point out the very expensive casket, which enlightens the reader to the way his personality alienated everyone around him. It is at the funeral that the reader meets Naomi and comes to understand the grievances she has with Wallace. The event also shows how his own partners hated him, even though Wallace thought he was running the perfect firm.
