A drought causes Belisa Crepusculario to decide that she needs to constantly move towards the coast to survive. Her movements represent her hopelessness. A drought leads to lack of life, because there is not enough water to sustain life. This reflects Belisa Crepusculario’s life, because Belisa Crepusculario’s life is one in which her chances of survival are slim, so she is in a desperate position, much like anyone who is living in a drought.
