The market squares are where most of the story takes place. Belisa Crepusculario wanders to different towns, setting up her stall in the market squares to sell her words. Furthermore, the scene in which El Mulato tracks down Belisa Crepusculario and brings her to the Colonel occurs at a market square. Thus, the market square settings are pivotal for the plot development.
