Why does Tyler walk to a party and what is it like when he arrives?

Tyler walks two hours to make it to the party because he doesn't have a ride and doesn't want to tell Bethany. When he arrives at the party, it is in full swing and Bethany is already plastered. They dance together, and he feels he is in heaven. He isn't happy when he sees his sister at the party with Yoda, but is too wrapped up in Bethany to worry too much.
