Importance of Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor is the setting in which Tolentino obtained her MFA at the University of Michigan. Tolentino lives there with her boyfriend who had just finished grad school and was searching for a job. It is a place in which Tolentino was able to explore and appreciate a wonderful college town with a nostalgia-inducing aimlessness. In Michigan, Tolentino frequently walked her dog, attended yoga, or captured fireflies.
