What is the main point of Grace's piece of narration from the story?

Grace's main role within the narrative of Trash is to vouch for what a stand-up guy Jose Angelico had been. She tells the reader that she had worked alongside Jose Angelico and had thus been privy to seeing his kind, gentle, trustworthy, and honest ways. Grace's comments about Jose Angelico are important to the story because the messages about corruption would not be clear if the reader were unsure about Jose Angelico's motive for stealing the already-stolen six million dollars from Senator Zapanta.
