Importance of Jeremy?

Jeremy is one of Bug’s classmates. He tells Bug that he is homosexual. He understands Bug’s concern that they will tell others that Bug is transgender before Bug is ready. Jeremy agrees that he does not want anyone learning about his homosexuality until he is ready to tell them.
