How does Mrs. McNabb manage to get the house in order after she receives word that the Ramsay's are coming for the summer?

Mrs. McNabb gets Mrs. Bast and her son to help with the cleaning and repairs. It takes them days of hard work, but they are able to put the house back into beautiful condition.
