What does mr raymond tell the children about himself
In Chapter 20, Mr. Raymond tells the children that the paperbag he is never without is merely filled with Coca-Cola.... not alcohol. Mr. Raymond allows people to think he's a drunk because it keeps people from questioning his lifestyle. He is happily married to a black woman, with whom he has children, and he prefers the company of his friends in the black community.
