Jem and Scout have different views about telling people at school how well Atticus can shoot. Explain this difference. Which view is closer to your own.
Jem and Scout learn that their father was very handy with a gun, but each child views the talent differently. Scout is instantly very proud of her father and wonders why he doesn't tell more people or brag about it. she even says: "Looks like he'd be proud of it," I said." Jem, on the other hand, understands what it is that Maude is trying to tell both of the children. In the end, while it is true that Jem is also proud of his father he understands his father's reasoning for keeping it quiet.
