The moon streaked with 'blood' that Sound of Running Feet sees one night as she and Swan Necklace discuss their future strikes her as ominous almost immediately. Swan Necklace is busy whispering of beautiful times to come, but his words fail to stick with Sound of Running Feet and even strike her as naive, for she foresees a great tragedy occurring over the next few days while the couple is set to travel to the Old Lady's Country. The red colour of the moon reminds her of blood, and indeed blood is shed in the near future as many Ne-mee-poo are killed and she herself loses her fiancé. Her premonition regarding the bloody moon appears to have been correct.
