What happens when Mrs. Armsted arrives at Snopes' store to collect the money she is owed from the horse auction?

Before arriving at the store, Henry's wife asked around town wondering if Snopes would really give her the money she was owed. When she arrives at the store, Snopes tells her that Hipps ran off with her money, even though it is an obvious lie as many people, Mrs. Armstid included, saw Hipps gives Snope the money. Mrs. Armstid doesn't argue with Snopes and simply leaves the store. On her way out, Snopes hands her a bag of grain that is worth a nickel, one one-hundredth of what she is owed.
