What do the hunters do to pass the time when they are bored on their hunting trips?

When the hunters get bored during their hunting trips, they often sit around drinking whiskey and telling stories to each other. On one such occasion, the young boy, Ike, is sent to accompany Boon out to the liquor store to purchase more whiskey because Boon is thought to be an alcoholic and is not trusted alone with the booze.
