How do the Mississippi farmers plan to wrangle the horses after Hipps skips town?

After the auction, the Mississippi farmers are left to their own devices to try to wrangle the horses and bring them home. They gather bits of rope and planks of wood in an attempt to corral the horses, but as expected from their nature, the horses do not want to go without a fight. They begin to kick and buck and eventually break away from the makeshift corral, causing a stampede.
