Who is Alicia from Things Not Seen and what is their importance?

Alicia is the blind girl that Bobby runs into at the entrance of the library. Over the course of the book, Alicia and Bobby build a bond because Alicia cannot tell that Bobby is invisible. While Alicia is helping Bobby to deal with his own disability, Alicia is also struggling with her disability of being blind. The two disabilities is what initially bonds the two together, but ultimately getting to know each other as people is what creates a relationship between Alicia and Bobby.
