Why do the First and Second individuals decide to pretend the meat creatures do not exist in the short-story, They’re Made Out of Meat?

The meat creatures that the characters discover live on one planet. The first individual informs the second that although they are capable of leaving this planet and traveling "to other planets in special meat containers," they cannot live outside their own planet (3). Therefore, the characters decide to erase all evidence of the planet and its inhabitants. Furthermore, they mark the realm where this planet is located void of life.
