Tea Cake seems to be Janie's perfect mate. Where does he go wrong?

Unlike Janie's previous husbands, Tea Cake include Janie in everything. He is initially worried that she will not be happy in his word.... he has no money, no occupation, and no prospects. None-the-less, he makes her happy anyway because of the strength of their relationship. Tea Cake, however, makes a huge mistake when he beats Janie..... an act that makes him like every other man who has wanted to dominate her.
