Who is Elija Black from The Zombie Survival Guide and what is their importance?

Native American, Elija Black, is a Lakota. After his grandfather is bitten by a zombie, Elija is forced to kill him. Black becomes the first known zombie hunter and dramatically saves the town of Hayward, Washington after an attack in 1888.
