Who is Christopher Wells from The Zombie Survival Guide and what is their importance?

Wells is a British copilot, who is transporting a frozen zombie to Colombo in 1923. When the zombie thaws out, and attacks the crew, forcing them to parachute out of the plane. The crew-chief, unfortunately, has been bitten and becomes a zombie on the life raft. Wells kicks both his companions into the ocean. His story is later dismissed as delusion.
