How does Clara help Lily Dale remember Etta Doris?

Clara tells Lily Dale that she came across someone who formerly worked for the Kidders. Clara says she is a stout lady with lighter skin than hers. Clara says the Kidders lived in "a sweet little house" when Etta Doris worked for them.
