Friedrich Engels co-authored, The Communist Manifesto. Born in Germany to a Rhineland manufacturer, Engels was sent to Bremen to learn the export business. Since he rejected the idea of private property, Engels was easily attracted to communism. He worked as a stockbroker and helped support the Marxs while they lived in London while Marx wrote Capital.
