Brompton Cemetery is where Diana's funeral takes place. It is here that Meadows tells Hawthorne that he thinks that a thief killed Diana. It is also here that the song emits from Diana's coffin. The setting serves to create red herrings, provide a clue, and create a new mystery for readers to solve which further engages them in the narrative.
