Anne Boleyn was Henry's second wife. Raised in the court of France, she was different from the women of the English court and immediately gained Henry's attention. Her sister Mary had also been involved with the King and had given her children. Anne and Henry had a long relationship while he set about divorcing Catherine. Unfortunately, like Catherine, Anne did not give Henry the male heir he so desired. As a result, Henry needed the means to divorce yet another wife, and Anne was accused of infidelity and treason. She was convicted and executed along with her accused lovers.
