Who is Catherine Bailey in the novel, The Wishing Game?

Catherine is Christopher’s foster mother. She is a well-respected foster mother who meets all of Christopher’s needs. She also cares for ill infant twins, and so much of her time is spent in their caretaking. While she does not love Christopher or shower him with affection, she does what is necessary to keep him safe and healthy.
