What is the rising action in the novel, The Wise Women?

The action rises when Steve charges several thousand dollars to Clementine’s credit card to attend a conference in Turks and Caicos. It continues to rise as Wendy comes to New York to help her daughters even though she is not sure exactly what the problem is. Wendy is snooping in Steve’s private office at Let’s Work when she is confronted by a private investigator, who believes Steve is trying to scam people into investing in his product.
