Where is Ethan's secret (special) place in the novel, The Winter of Our Discontent?

Ethan's secret place is located near the pier on the harbor and is actually more dangerous than a sanctuary should be. Ethan has used this place since he was a child, and as usual has shared it with no one. He either goes to this secret place or wants to throughout the novel, and at the end, this is where he has his epiphany about Ellen and her light of goodness.
