What is the significance of the title, The Wings of the Dove?

"Dove", the main word in the title of the work, is used to refer to Milly, a young, beautiful spirit, who wishes only happiness, contentment and peace for her friends. In many ways, she spreads her wings to encompass her friends, hoping to assist them even as she is dying.
