Who is RECO 1 in the novel, The Wild Robot?

RECO 1 is the lead RECO robot sent by airship to retrieve Roz from the island. RECO 1 is unflinching from his assigned duty. Designed for battle, RECO 1 is difficult to defeat, but he is taken down by a blast from a rifle fired by the geese. RECO 1, in his final moments of operation, tells Roz her only hope of repair is to return to the factory by airship. It is advice that Roz ultimately takes.
