Several months prior to her death, Holly Ingleby had discovered that Rushwood was stealing thousands of dollars a month from Pails for Trails and had used that knowledge – as well as the fact that Bob was Drew’s biological father – to blackmail him. Rushwood murders Holly in order to end the blackmail, and keep his secrets safe.
