Hey, I'm unsure about the lanaguage style in the novel. It's for an essay and I'm kinda clueless.

This is a first person point of view story. The voice of Balram Halwai is not a stereotypical poor indentured servant. He does not come across as inferior to Europeans or especially aggressive towards them. He presents India with grace and sympathy. We actually get a reliable sense of objectivity and style as Balram navigates his way through poor rural life to urban success.
