The Sadik Pasha prison, in which the Turks imprisoned the narrator resides in this area. The Golden Horn is an inlet of the Bosporus with two rivers draining into it at the far end. It is considered to be the world’s largest natural harbor. From the 7th century BC onward, the Golden Horn enabled Constantinople to become a rich and powerful port.
