The author uses first person narration throughout the entire novel. Rarely does the author use a different narration technique, excluding the epilogue, which is written from an omniscient third person narration. The author chooses to write in first person for several reasons, the first of which is that the readers are able to fully understand the character's motivations if the narration is coming from their point of view. The readers are immersed in the feelings and thoughts of the first person narrators, making it easy for the readers to become invested in the characters and story. They also are able to understand how the character is motivated and why they do or say the things they do. The characters are easy to understand and the readers know their morals and values from the first person narration, instead of having to guess or assume, as with the third person omniscient narrator.
