The Way Back
How is the village of Tupik described in the novel, The Way Back?
.
.
The village is rather small but the residents provide for their basic needs with a butcher shop, bakery, church, cemetery, and more. The village is described as a “dead end.” There is nothing but swamp past the village but the town still maintains a ferry, which is how the Dark Messenger first arrives in Tupik.
