Why is it significant that Bernard is not the first speaker in Section 5?

This fact is significant because it signals what the reader may have begun to infer from Section 4. Bernard is losing his place of power within the group, and especially now that Percival has died the reader is forced to wonder if the group even exists in any sense now.
