Despite the characters trending toward total separation at the end of Section 3, the reader encounters all of them congregating at a restaurant. The six of them have arrived because Percival is leaving for India soon, and they have all arrived for a farewell dinner. This is particularly important because it denotes Percival as a uniting force among the characters, and the reader is forced to wonder about how the group will exist with Percival so far away or if we are meant to believe that by this point the group no longer exists as an entity but merely a collection of individuals.
