In Section 6, we encounter the three character who were omitted from the previous section. Describe their places in life at this point.

Jinny, Susan, and Louis all appear to be content with their lives in Section 6. This is notable because it signals that their detachment from the group as a whole, and thus their detachment from the death of Percival, has permitted them to live their lives in the ways that they had envisioned as they grew up. Louis only speaks in banalities about the others, including his revelation that he is having an affair with Rhoda, and Susan fails to mention the others at all, save a single comment about Jinny. Although it is clear that these characters appear content with their places in life, the reader is left with the recognition that the entity that was a product of the combination of all six of their consciousnesses has been destroyed.
