Like Louis, Susan has found contentment through order. By pursuing the life she leads from an early age, she has found success in following her mother's example, and she does not think much about the group as a whole. She does, however, have some disparaging thoughts about Jinny, who she is clearly the opposite of, and she even goes so far as to suggest that Jinny may be a bad influence on others. She expresses great happiness at the simple domestic affairs which she engages in far from the hustle and bustle of the urban life.
